It has been so interesting to see how much my two sisters and parents line up with these roles. I am definitely the scapegoat, but have an older sister who rebelled as a teen and so a lot of drama and angry attention went her way. I would have thought I was the lost child, because I have been more the problem solverand caretaker, but I was definitely the one, who even though very obedient, got the criticism and put downs. I can’t describe the relief I feel at “being seen” and knowing that what happened to me wasn’t because I’m defecient, but because my family was a typical narcissistic system.
